Customer Service Representative
Bluestem Electric Cooperative, Inc. is looking for a Customer Service Representative to join our team in Wamego, Kansas. The Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing friendly and helpful customer service for all Bluestem customers by utilizing in-depth knowledge of the Cooperative’s electric utility services.
This person is responsible for determining the customer’s needs either in-person or over the phone, by listening, asking questions, and responding to customer inquiries. The Customer Service Representative will display a positive and friendly attitude while answering incoming calls, routing them to the appropriate staff, welcoming customers visiting our office in-person, processing new service orders, moves, disconnects, and any changes to existing services. The Customer Service Representative will also serve as the primary backup for the Billing Specialist.
A qualified applicant will be a self-starter, proficient in various computer software programs including Microsoft Word & Excel, and will be able to handle difficult situations independently while remaining calm and patient under pressure. High school diploma or GED required, with previous customer service and/or accounting experience preferred.

Bluestem Electric Cooperative, Inc. is a nonprofit and member-owned electric cooperative. In 1999, P R & W Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (1940) and C & W Rural Electric Cooperative Association, Inc. (1938) consolidated to form Bluestem Electric Cooperative, Inc. These two cooperatives were incorporated over 75 years ago by groups of rural citizens. Bluestem Electric exists today to provide its members with quality electric service at the lowest reasonable cost consistent with good business practices.
Bluestem serves Pottawatomie, Riley, Wabaunsee, Jackson, Clay, Washington, Cloud, Ottawa, Dickinson, Geary and Marshall counties.
